Aston Martin to reveal insight into its automation programme

Prestige car manufacturer Aston Martin has been confirmed to present the results of its recently implemented automation technology at this year's Automate UK conference, taking place next week in London.

The event, which is being hosted at the Waldorf Hilton in London next Tuesday the 25th of February, will address the current issues facing UK manufacturers and investigate the benefits available from the latest automation technology.

The presentation from Aston Martin will look at how the company has historically approached manufacturing, the outcomes of its implementation of automation technology, and also provide a snapshot of their future innovation intent.

Aston Martin’s new global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire opened in 2003, the first purpose built facility in the company’s history. Ten years on, Aston Martin strides forward into its second century with new investment and the strongest model line-up ever created. Innovation is central to Aston Martin’s product and production success and the company has embraced a range of leading edge manufacturing technologies to stay ahead and amongst these are a new automation platform.

Speaking on the day will be Steve Davis, senior control systems engineer at Aston Martin. Steve has worked within the automotive engineering industry in the United Kingdom for 18 years, having completed a full technical apprentership, followed with a HNC & HND and finally graduating with degree in Software Design & Networking from the University of Birmingham. Mr Davis has worked for Aston Martin for six years, where he is responsible for the implementation of key engineering projects within manufacturing.
