Aurrigo International has completed a hat-trick of award wins in the opening months of 2026, as the autonomous vehicle specialist continues to expand its presence in the aviation sector.

The Coventry-based firm most recently saw its CEO, David Keene, named Technology Leader at the West Midlands Leadership Awards, marking the company’s third major accolade since the start of the year.

Leadership recognition reflects aviation momentum

Keene was recognised by judges for accelerating Aurrigo’s entry into aviation, a sector typically seen as resistant to new technologies. He was shortlisted alongside leaders from organisations including School of Coding & AI, Inicio AI and Rem3dy Health.

Aurrigo’s autonomous vehicle platforms are now being trialled across 12 airports worldwide, including Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Zurich Airport and Teesside International Airport. The deployments signal growing acceptance of automation within airport ground operations.

Trio of awards underscores strong start to 2026

The latest recognition follows two earlier wins: Keene’s Ambassador of the Year at the Business Desk Awards and a Highly Acclaimed Innovative Logistics Solution in Air Cargo from STAT Times.

The latter was presented during the World Cargo Symposium in Lima and highlighted the company’s progress in deploying autonomous solutions for air cargo operations.

Autonomous solutions target efficiency and sustainability

Aurrigo’s portfolio includes its Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo and Auto-Shuttle vehicles, alongside the Auto-Sim software platform. These systems are designed to improve operational efficiency and passenger experience, while reducing emissions.

According to the company, its autonomous vehicles can cut carbon output by up to 60% compared with traditional diesel-powered ground support equipment, an increasingly important factor as airports seek to decarbonise operations.

Growth ambitions backed by recent contract win

The awards come shortly after Aurrigo secured its largest-ever manufacturing contract with Ultra Global, underlining the commercial momentum behind its technology offering.

Commenting on the recognition, Keene said the awards reflected both technological innovation and the strength of the company’s teams, adding:

“Technology is at the core of what we do, so it’s fantastic to be recognised in this field, especially when you consider the diverse and innovative nature of the firms we were up against.”

With multiple airport trials underway and industry recognition building, Aurrigo appears well positioned to capitalise on increasing demand for automation in aviation logistics.
