Manufacturer of potato crisps, Tyrrells Potato Crisps, has announced the completion of a £2m capital investment into its vegetable crisp manufacturing capability to significantly improve the crisps’ quality.
According to Tyrrells, the investment has increased the level of automation during the manufacturing process, which will reduce the amount of manual handling or number of ‘touchpoints’.
With 46% market share Tyrrells are seeking to accelerate category growth (+5% according to IRI UK Market Total Veg Crisps Volume Growth 21.05.17) by ensuring that their Tyrrells Veg Crisps are consistently bigger with less breakages and offering a more generous bag fill.
Adam Draper, marketing director at Tyrrells says: “This investment is indicative of our commitment to product quality at Tyrrells.
“We think the improvements we have made to our Tyrrells Veg Crisps are so good, that we are offering consumers their money back if they are not fully satisfied with our splendidly bigger veg crisps”.
Tyrrells is based on Tyrrells Court Farm in Herefordshire countryside and since its beginnings in 2002 has gone on to become the fast-growing premium snacking brand in the UK.
