The workers at the Visteon plant in Northern Ireland who were told they were being made redundant this morning (Tuesday) have said they will occupy the factory until they agree a redundancy package.

The car parts manufacturer earlier announced the closure of the Belfast factory along with ones in Basildon and Enfield.

This was after KPMG, acting as administrator, said it had no choice but to close the factories. It said the company’s UK losses since its year 2000 inception totalled £669m.
