Professional grooming products maker BaByliss has selected PTC Creo for the development and design of its hair care products.

The global company said it standardised its operations on the PTC CAD solution to support the ever-increasing market demand for trendy, innovative and revolutionary products and to optimise collaboration among its dispersed teams.

BaByliss, founded in Paris in 1961, joined the world renowned Conair group in 1995 and has since grown to become an international cult brand for consumers today. It is estimated that 80% of households own at least one BaByliss product in France alone. BaByliss operations extend across three continents with Research & Development locations in Europe, USA and Asia.

In addition to continually updating and broadening its extensive product portfolio, designers are tasked to develop new concepts and create innovative new devices to suit the sophisticated needs of the modern consumer. A key component of the BaByliss success is its use of interesting shapes, structures and colors to create trendy new products that ensure customer loyalty. The expertise and reputation of this global enterprise have helped revolutionize the world of beauty and hairdressing.

In order to overcome mounting challenges to maintain and update its extensive product line, pressure to continuously develop market-leading innovative new products and to achieve optimal collaboration and interaction among its globally dispersed teams, BaByliss made the decision to implement PTC Creo at its European facilities. The solution now works seamlessly with the PTC installations in the USA and Asia. Prodware, a PTC Gold Partner in France and Belgium, was selected for the implementation and training of the solution.

First results following deployment show improved collaboration between designers, stylists and engineers from the concept phase through to final design modifications. Moreover, using PTC Creo, each team member’s skills, whether technical or artistic, are fully leveraged within the design process.

“PTC Creo is fantastic, comprehensive design software that meets the needs of all our employees. With its vast functionality, this tool is suitable for beginners as well as the most advanced users, handling both straightforward and complex tasks for any design,” said Nicolas Colin, designer BaByliss.

“We are extremely proud BaByliss has chosen PTC to support its strategy to bring more revolutionary products to market faster,” concluded Fabrice Arduin, vice president channel sales, PTC. “BaByliss’ expertise and PTC’s knowhow in product development are a winning combination.”
