H.J. Heinz Co. and CEVA have announced a five-year deal which will see the logistics company provide its ocean freight service to the food manufacturer.
Famous for their tomato ketchup, baked beans and range of sauces, this is the first time that Heinz has entrusted a single logistics provider with exclusive management of its ocean freight.
Through the deal they hope to achieve a reduced supply chain cost, create a simpler structure and improve their supply chain visibility.
CEVA design and implement supply chain solutions for large and medium-sized companies, one of its key areas of development is its ocean freight service, transporting large, long-lead time items cost-effectively.
They work in partnership with many UK food manufacturers including John West, the UK canned fish brand, who earlier this month renewed their three-year partnership with CEVA for £13m.
