Bloodhound announces component tender process

Posted on 20 Dec 2011 by Tim Brown

On Thursday 12th Jan, at the Autosport show, Bloodhound will launch design and manufacture work packages allowing companies to tender for contracts for the production of components needed for the 1,000 mph World Land Speed Record car.

The Project is accelerating rapidly as the team continue with the build phase of the jet and rocket powered vehicle. Engineering companies are offered an exciting opportunity to showcase their expertise and take part in this global project by helping produce over 5000 bespoke components in the next 12 months.

A catalogue of work packages will be listed on the Motorsport Industry Association website, this will take visitors to the Bloodhound website where they can browse and select those appropriate to their areas of specialism e.g. composites, additive manufacture, 5 axis CNC machining, etc. Companies are invited to quote on any component they would like to design and or manufacture. If the quote is accepted, the design drawings, and where applicable, materials and tooling will be issued.
