BMW Hams Hall has been the venue for an event celebrating the first wave of employees to have gained manufacturing qualifications as part of a partnership training initiative with Blue Arrow and Sutton Coldfield College.
Eighteen Blue Arrow associates have now achieved national vocational qualifications at NVQ level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations – the partnership now hopes to see 41 employees complete the course next month.
“The importance of vocational qualifications in addressing skills shortages at local and national level cannot be overstated and I am delighted to recognise the success of Blue Arrow’s employees,” said event guest Mike Beasley CBE, Learning and Skills Council chairman. “This initiative to train flexible workers reflects well on the employer’s and the region’s determination to create the highly skilled workforce it needs to compete successfully on the world stage.”
