Bosch to put manufacturers in the driving seat at Railtex

Longstanding supplier into the rail sector, Bosch Rexroth, is set to reveal a host of innovative applications for the rail industry at this year’s Railtex exhibition at London’s Earls Court (30 April – 2 May).

The stand will feature a bespoke cooling system, cyclone tank, filtration, staging platform solutions, security technology and power tools, making it a must see for everyone from operations managers through to rail engineers.

Specifically developed for on-vehicle rail applications, Bosch Rexroth’s cyclone tank reduces the oil volume required for hydrostatic drive systems through a patented innovative cyclonic internal configuration that allows more efficient oil de-aeration.

Attendees will also have the chance to find out more about Bosch Rexroth’s comprehensive cooling systems.  Engineers will be on hand to discuss specific requirements; whether it’s a hydrostatic or electric cooling requirement or a complete control system, the company will work with rail companies from prototype production through to commissioning and series delivery.  Once chosen, the cooling system is validated and honed by Bosch Rexroth’s comprehensive simulation technology.

Engineers will also be providing the latest details on Bosch Rexroth’s new filtration systems.   Taking centre stage will be the LE (N) 0040-0400 series filtration system, which has an innovative filter head design resulting in a ‘cyclone effect’ which diverts the inlet flow in a specific direction thus enhancing the flow properties and dirt absorption capacity.  In addition, the filter also boasts a newly designed bowl which improves element mounting and stability, keeping the element in place which ensures constant pressure distribution.

Bosch Security Systems will display a selection of high definition cameras and rugged PTZ Metal Mickey camera and video management systems.  The company will also discuss latest innovations, including how analytics can identify pre-selected subjects. Film of typical rail applications will be shown throughout the show on request.

A selection of Bosch Rexroth’s range of power tools will also be on display, including the GSH 11 VC Professional SDS-Max Breaker – the world’s most powerful 11kg breaker.

Alan Read, Transport Technology Manager at Bosch Rexroth, said:  “This year marks the 150th anniversary of us working with the rail industry.  In that time we have adapted to the industry’s changing needs and requirements and can now proudly boast that whether supplying hydrostatic auxiliary drives, electric or hydraulic driven cooling systems, ball screw drives for rail switches, or even our latest automation and filtration technologies, all will meet the relevant standards and regulations set down for the industry.”

He continued:  “Bosch Rexroth’s presence at this year’s Railtex Exhibition is the culmination of decades working closely with the rail industry. The sheer variety of technologies and applications we now offer from automation and pneumatic products to control systems, all the way through to night vision and infrared technology is a testament to our commitment to innovation within the sector.”
