Manufacturers are invited to join UK Trade and Investment and foreign diplomats next month at three events around the country aimed at helping companies do more business in Asia.
The UKTI and RBS Doing Business in Asia: Meet the Experts events takes place on November 23 in Bristol, November 24 in Newcastle, and November 25 in Hinckley. The events will bring together businesses and UKTI directors with business and political experience and expertise in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Doug Mahoney, UKTI International Trade Director in the West Midlands, said the events are “ideal for businesses that are new to Asia and want to find out more, or are already active and want to dig deeper.”
“A quarter of attendees at similar events in 2009 have already increased business in Asia as a direct result of what they learnt or who they met, and a further 67 per cent are expecting to do so within the next three years,” he said.
“A recent market visit to Japan is expected to generate business for the next 12 months of just under £2 million.”
The events cost £75 + VAT per person but an early bird price of £50 + VAT is available, using the booking code ‘uktiatf10’. A special rate is also available for members of UKTI partner organisations.
