CAB Automotive’s managing director has been elected president of Made in the Midlands, a business network to advance the shared needs of industry in the region.
John Faulkner, managing director of Smethwick-based Cab Automotive, a Tier 1 supplier to most of the UK automotive OEM’s, was selected to be president of Made in the Midlands.
His election springs off CAB Automotive’s recent business success – growing the £20m turnover – and its creation of 120 manufacturing jobs in the midlands since 2009. There are plans to employ another 100 people in the next 12 months.
As president of Made in the Midlands Mr Faulkner will lead a council of 30 Midlands business leaders and guide strategic decision making for the network which represents 270 manufacturing companies. It is a politically neutral network based on an ethos of grass-roots SME collaboration for the creation of a competitive local manufacturing environment.
