The Manufacturing Industry Awards 2012 will be held together with the MTA’s Annual Gala Dinner on 1 February 2012 at ICC Birmingham.

The purpose of the awards is to highlight key successes in the engineering based manufacturing sector and celebrate achievement and technological innovation.

If your company, or one of your clients or customers, has had something to shout about this year why don’t you enter the awards and help show off our industries’ successes.

The Best Training Scheme award identifies those training programmes that are both innovative and deliver results. Training programmes that can show clear development of both the youngest or newest entrants into the industry, as well as long-standing staff, are eligible.

The Young Engineer of the Year award is open to engineers who demonstrate outstanding commitment, achievement or innovation in engineering.Entrants should stand out among their peers and show potential as future leaders in the industry.

The Best Supplier Partnership celebrates successful relationships between a customer and supplier. This can include manufacturer and sub-contractor relationships and suppliers into sub-contractors companies; essentially any business partnership that has delivered excellence in innovation, sustainability, value or delivery.

The Most Dynamic Sub-Contractor award recognises the positive difference that excellent and forward-thinking sub-contractors can have on industry. The award is specifically looking for extraordinary sub-contractors that go above and beyond to integrate and, importantly deliver, to help businesses succeed.

Drive for Sustainable Manufacturing aims to recognise a dramatic improvement in a company’s environmental credentials. This may include a business change that has resulted in waste reduction, or reduced energy or water consumption, or shows improved recycling credentials. It may also include a switch to more sustainable materials or services.

“In the current economic climate, the role of manufacturing has become more important than ever. We continue to show growth and we’re aiming to pull the economy along. The Manufacturing Industry Awards 2012 is the opportunity for our industry to shine and celebrate innovation and achievements. I invite you to join us as we look to the future of British manufacturing technologies and enjoy an evening of networking and entertainment with colleagues and industry peers” Simon Pollard, MTA President and Managing Director at Kyal Machine Tools Ltd.

The Manufacturing Industry Awards are being delivered in collaboration with some of the sector’s key trade associations plus the headline sponsor, Lloyds TSB Commercial. Shortlisted entries will be judged through an online voting system open to the manufacturing public and winners will be announced at a black-tie Award Ceremony on 1 February 2012.
