ReAgent, a leading UK chemical manufacturer, has officially opened its first overseas facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. The establishment of ReAgent USA marks an exciting milestone in the company’s international growth.
Taking british manufacturing excellence to the US
Founded in 1977, ReAgent provides chemical blending, packaging, and distribution services across many industries. Its focus on international trade, quality excellence, and outstanding customer service was formally recognised in 2025 when ReAgent was awarded a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.
The expansion into the US builds on this British chemical manufacturing heritage, turning almost 50 years of expertise into international growth. It also involves a $6 million investment and is projected to create 30 new jobs in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
North Carolina stood out for a variety of reasons, including its manufacturing infrastructure and strong labour market. We are excited to locate there, and eager to grow our US presence.
Rich Hudson, CEO of ReAgent
He continued: “Locating in Winston-Salem ensures we are well-positioned for scalability and growth.”
Chemical blending and ultra-pure water products
The new Winston-Salem site mirrors the high standards of ReAgent’s UK production facility in Runcorn. It offers bespoke chemical blending services, with the site equipped to handle both high- and low-viscosity formulations across a wide variety of batch sizes, complete with bespoke labelling services.
The site also features a high-tech water treatment plant for the production of different types of ultra-pure water. This includes deionised water, demineralised water, distilled water, synthetic sea water, and ASTM-grade water for laboratory and industrial applications.
Rich Hudson says, “We’re bringing nearly five decades of British chemical manufacturing expertise to the US. By staying true to our quality-driven processes in Winston-Salem, we’re aiming to deliver solutions that elevate the North American chemical manufacturing market.”
