Chrysler and Nissan Motor have entered into an agreement to make vehicles for each other – the second deal of its kind for the two companies so far this year.

Under the agreement, Chrysler is to produce a pick-up truck for Nissan, using Nissan’s own designs, to be released to the North America market in 2011.

Meanwhile, Nissan will manufacture a small fuel-efficient car based of Chrysler designs, which will be launched by Chrysler from 2010 to be sold in North American, European and several other global markets.

Chrysler president Tom LaSorda said that effective partnerships were “critical to the long-term success of the company.”
