Columbus announces Omnica acquisition

Global ERP vendor Columbus has announced the acquisition of retail and e-commerce software company Omnica.

Columbus say the acquisition is a strategic move in line with Columbus’ ambition to further strengthen its global position as an industry focused consultancy.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed figure, will begin with immediate effect and gives Columbus access to Omnica’s e-commerce and multichannel software solutions. as well drawing on the 30-strong team based near Manchester.

Since being founded in 2007, Omnica has consistently increased its market share within retail and distribution.

Columbus UK managing director Mary Hunter said the deal strengthens the company in other areas outside of its key verticals of the food and manufacturing sectors.

“I am really excited about this acquisition as in addition to the global benefits it allows us to fast track our renewed focus on Retail in the UK market, whilst keeping our eyes firmly on our other key verticals; Food and Manufacturing.”
