A Coventry automotive supplier that has invested over £15m in its operations while looking set to create 300 new jobs has received a top West Midlands business award.
Brose UK, which has quadrupled its workforce since 2012 to 500 employees and is set to add an additional 300 by 2016, saw its growth acknowledged at the Business Desk Masters Awards in Birmingham.
Landing the ‘Large Manufacturer’ award at the event held at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, the company which supplies window regulators and front and rear seating systems to the car industry, also impressed judges with its commitment to the region.
Thomas Kohlbauer, managing director of Brose UK, said the award represented the first time the company had been acknowledged despite manufacturing in Coventry for over 25 years.
“Every part of the business has worked tirelessly to ensure we have been able to meet massive surges in demand from our customers, not to mention introducing a new dedicated window regulator assembly area at our second factory in Courtaulds Way near the centre of Coventry,” he said.
The award continues a strong 2014 for Brose UK, which secured a contract to supply window regulators to the new Nissan Qashqai earlier this year.
Mr Kohlbauer added: “Our parent company recognises our efforts to turn the company around since the recession and is highly appreciative of the contribution from our workforce.
“The ‘Masters’ success will reinforce this as we aim for further expansion and involvement in new model platforms and launches.
