Warrington based Stuart Canvas - manufacturer of bespoke sports, commercial and industrial covers - has relocated to bigger premises and made an additional £100,000 investment in new manufacturing machinery and equipment.
The new site in Warrington will give Stuart Canvas more than 25,000 sq ft manufacturing space – an increase of more than 50% on its previous site. With the additional machinery, including Welding machines, Strapping machines, floor welders, sewing machines, commercial cleaning machines and a new truck and trailers, the company’s total investment comes to £175,000.
Chief executive Ed Stoddart says the company has bucked the recessionary trend, experiencing rapid growth against a backdrop of manufacturing in the UK hitting a ten month low in September.
“We’ve had a strong year and have grown to such an extent that we urgently needed more space,” he says. “This move, along with our investment in equipment, marks a significant milestone for the company and gives us an ideal platform to further develop our capabilities and achieve even greater improvements in efficiency.”
Stuart Canvas has over thirty years of experience in manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins and supplies covers to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Premier League Football Clubs, Lords Cricket Ground and Haydock Race Course.
