CRDM has been announced as one of only five companies in the UK to be approved as a reseller for the Hewlett Packard DesignJet 3D printer series and parts.

CDRM is a British provider of rapid prototyping and rapid tooling services. Graham Bennett, technical director of the company said: “Hewlett Packard is one of the world’s leading technology providers and to be approached to be a reseller is recognition of the excellent reputation that CRDM has developed over the past 15 years. With vast experience of rapid prototyping and rapid tooling, [our firm] is ideally placed to provide this service to its clients.”

At this point in time, design teams do not have the facilities to produce their own models quickly without using an external company such as CRDM. By providing clients with 3D printers, they’ll be able to build models quickly and efficiently in their own design offices before taking them to the next stage of development, which is where CRDM’s expertise comes in to full effect.

Graham commented on the potential for 3D printers: “There is huge interest in this technology and it has the potential to revolutionise the market. Hewlett Packard’s commitment to providing 3D printers is a clear sign that 3D printing is really coming of age.”

“Allowing businesses to build their own test 3D models in advance of coming to a professional RP company will ensure that they can quickly, easily and efficiently create their own prototypes before putting them into production. By offering this complementary service to our clients, we can help to make the design process more efficient and save them time and money,” he added.
