Derbyshire-based jewellery manufacturers CW Sellors has unveiled plans for a new £5m headquarters due to break ground in April 2014.
The plans for the new HQ were unveiled to the public at International Jewellery London, a trade show for Jewellery retailer, manufacturers and suppliers to the international jewellery industry.
The company is now into a 13 week planning approval process for the new development which it hopes will begin construction in April 2014.
CW Sellors has been at its current location in Ashbourne, Derbyshire since it was founded in 1979.
The investment in a new, eco-friendly Jewellery Design Centre of Excellence will see the
company, which employs over 90 people, relocate wholesale to a purpose built facility west of the Carsington Reservoir.
The relocation represents an investment of around £5m according to a company spokesperson and will enable CW Sellors to support an education centre, shop and gallery at its HQ as well as production and business facilities.
At least 20 new jobs will be created at the new site, including around 10 in production confirmed a company source. Around 25 employees work in manufacturing at the moment.
New equipment is being purchased to enhance production capability and capacity at the new site. This includes the acquisition of a new laser engraver and rapid prototyping machine.
“We will be bringing a laser welder on board to help us get the best from the laser engraving investment,” said Jennie Higgins, CW Sellors’ PR and events coordinator.
