Government launches £40m fund to unlock 5G benefits across the UK
Local areas across the UK will be helped to boost their digital connectivity and develop advanced wireless technologies, thanks to a new £40m fund that could power everything from innovative healthcare solutions to futuristic farming and smart systems to improve transport and cut congestion.

Thousands of primary school children take virtual lesson on cutting-edge sustainable manufacturing
Thousands of primary school children from across the UK have been learning about how to create sustainable manufacturing plants through a virtual school lesson delivered by Siemens.
More than 5,500 children aged 7-11 were given a compelling insight into how you make a facility carbon-neutral and what sustainable manufacturing processes look like in a session delivered in partnership with STEM Live, an organisation that delivers interactive STEM learning experiences in the classroom. Schneider Electric: Leeds company set to expand Hunslet site with 100 new jobs on the way
Schneider Electric (SE), who employ more than 550 local people, will expand their base in Hunslet over the next decade, according to a Leeds City Council document.
The move will be partially funded through a one-off tax break on the company’s annual business rates, which are split between the council and the government. The French manufacturer produces charging points for electrical vehicles, alongside dozens of other appliances.
The council paper, which was published online at the end of last week, said “SE are looking to expand their existing facility in Leeds which will allow the business to grow its portfolio” of products. Find out more on Yahoo!
Kraft Heinz announces goal to reduce virgin plastic use globally by 20 per cent by 2023
The Kraft Heinz Company has announced a new goal in 2023 to reduce the use of virgin plastic in its global packaging portfolio by 20 per cent by 2030 – a critical step in decreasing its use of fossil fuels and finding more sustainable product packaging options. A leading independent manufacturer of large format corrugated cases and high-performance packaging has completed a £multimillion machinery investment and expanded its sales team with a key appointment.

Compass Travel upgrades Surrey Hills service with four new Alexander Dennis Enviro200
Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has supplied four new Enviro200 single deck buses to Compass Travel of Worthing.
The new low-emission buses are dedicated to service 32, which Compass Travel provides in partnership with Surrey County Council. One of the UK’s leading digital transformation specialists has announced its next global Chief Executive Officer in a major milestone for the company.
