Agreement reached for Britvic acquisition

The boards of Carlsberg and Britvic have announced that an agreement has been reached on the terms of a recommended cash offer to be made by Bidco to acquire the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Britvic. The acquisition values the entire share capital of Britvic at approximately £3.3bn on a fully diluted basis and an implied enterprise value of approximately £4.1bn.

Ian Durant, non-executive chairman of Britvic, said: “The proposed transaction creates an enlarged international group that is well-placed to capture the growth opportunities in multiple drinks sectors.” More via The Independent

The UK’s new Labour government will make “job guarantees” a requirement of any state support package offered to Tata Steel as the company restructures its operations, the business secretary has said. More via Financial Times

William Cook Group chalks up rising revenues and profits amid growth in all markets

North steel specialist William Cook Group has seen revenues and profits rise after seeing demand rise in all of its main markets.

Accounts for William Cook Holdings Ltd, representing the group of companies, showed group turnover rose 28.4% from £52.4m to £67.3m for the year ended July 2023. More via Business Live

Rare look inside Ford Halewood as factory achieves major milestone

Ford have revealed the inner workings of their factory as the firm celebrates a major milestone in Merseyside.

Ford began looking for a site to make cars in the UK in 1960 and Halewood was soon selected. The Ford Anglia was the first car off the production line, and the plant officially opened in 1964. More via Liverpool Echo
