Yunex Traffic introduces Yunex Built – a new brand for manufacturing services
Yunex Traffic has announced Yunex Built, a new brand for manufacturing services, extending beyond the company’s established focus on traffic and transport.
Operating as a specialist division under the umbrella of Yunex Traffic – who won manufacturer of the year at The Manufacturer MX Awards 2023 – Yunex Built’s services are provided from its manufacturing facility, based in Poole, UK, where it specialises in the assembly of PCBs (printed circuit boards) for a wide range of industries worldwide. JLR witnesses increased sales in Q3 FY23
JLR today reported increased sales volumes for the third quarter of FY24 (three-month period to 31 December 2023), reflecting improvements in supply as more vehicles were delivered to clients.
Wholesale volumes in the period were 101,043 units (excluding the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV), up 27% compared to the same quarter a year ago and up 4% compared to the quarter ended 30 September 2023. More via JLR

RAL Space part of historic lunar exploration milestone
In a significant step forward in lunar exploration, an instrument designed to observe the Moon’s atmosphere was successfully launched on 8 January 2024.
The instrument, called the Peregrine Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer (PITMS), was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida and is a part of Peregrine Mission One. More via UK Research and Innovation

UK-based orbital launch services company, Orbex, has today announced the appointment of two tech and space sector stalwarts as its new CEO and Executive Chair.

Pioneering Leonardo PhD student develops experimental Drone Detection & Classification Radar
Jarez Patel, a Leonardo-sponsored PhD student, has pioneered the development of his own radar system to investigate the challenges surrounding drone detection and recognition impacting modern society. Such has been the ground-breaking impact of his work, that Jarez is now applying his expertise and experience to the development of the UK’s future combat air system, as part of Team Tempest. BAE Systems secures Australian Navy Mk 45 upgrade contract
BAE Systems has been awarded a contract by the Commonwealth of Australia to upgrade existing Mk 45 Mod 2 naval gun systems on Anzac class frigates with a Common Control System (CCS).
The upgrade modifies existing Mk 45 systems to eliminate obsolescence issues and extend the life of the gun system. More via BAE Systems
