OX Delivers secures £1.2m UK Energy Catalyst grant funding
OX Delivers, UK-based emobility start-up, has received a £1.2m funding grant from Energy Catalyst as the company readies its next-generation affordable all-electric OX4 truck for production.
The £1.2m Energy Catalyst grant will fund the development of a sustainable energy infrastructure in Rwanda from which OX Delivers EV trucks will benefit from. More via The Manufacturer

Airbus reports Full-Year (FY) 2023 results
Airbus SE reported consolidated Full-Year (FY) 2023 financial results and provided guidance for 2024.
Airbus delivered 735 commercial aircraft last year and posted a net profit of $4.1bn (£3.25bn), an 11 percent drop year on year. More via Airbus
First Milk acquires Dorset-based dairy manufacturer
British farmer-owned co-op First Milk has today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Dorset-based dairy manufacturer, BV Dairy.
The family-owned company, which specialises in manufacturing chilled dairy products, serves customers throughout England, Wales and Scotland. More via FarmingUK
Aston University establishes Design Factory Birmingham as a global innovation hub for Midlands
Birmingham has become the latest city to join a global network of design and digital consultancies set up to solve real world challenges through effective problem-solving. Design Factory Birmingham will be based at Aston University, one of just two hubs in the UK outside of London.
The city officially joined the Design Factory Global Network on Wednesday 14 February and as a result Aston University will open the doors to its state-of-the-art facilities to other organisations. More via The Manufacturer
UK-led project explores PV module production in Africa, Asia, Indo-Pacific
A project led by Swansea University in the United Kingdom is exploring the potential of countries in Africa, Asia and the Indo-Pacific to set up manufacturing hubs for low-cost PV modules.
TEA at SUNRISE is a collaboration between Swansea University’s SUNRISE network, an international project developing solar technologies to address energy poverty, and the UK government-funded Transforming Energy Access (TEA) platform. More via pv magazine
Leonardo brings a kaleidoscope of colour to NASA instrument measuring ocean health
A NASA satellite launched on 8 February from Cape Canaveral is fitted with a sensor built at Leonardo in Southampton that is so sensitive, it will give NASA unprecedented levels of information about phytoplankton populations that are vital to the health of the global ocean ecosystem.
That is because the sensor offers a vast new array of colours that will share much more detailed information than has been available in the past. More via Leonardo UK
FANUC UK begins search to find Britain’s best young robotics talent
As part of its ongoing drive to encourage more young people to begin a career in automation and engineering, FANUC UK is inviting the country’s brightest young minds to take part in the WorldSkills UK Industrial Robotics competition.
For the fourth year running, the industrial automation company is partnering with WorldSkills UK to give apprentices and students the chance to learn key robotics programming and operating skills with help from FANUC experts – and even earn the right to represent Squad UK at the international finals in China.
