Pilkington UK to scale low carbon glass production under hydrogen plans

Pilkington UK will scale its production of low carbon glass from 2027 under plans with Grenian Hydrogen to produce green hydrogen at its manufacturing base.

A hydrogen plant at Pilkington UK’s Greengate Works site in St Helens will provide the manufacturer with up to seven tonnes of zero-emission hydrogen each day. More via Glass International

Daimler Truck UK sells Wentworth Park site

Daimler Truck UK has secured the future of its flagship Wentworth Park complex in South Yorkshire, by completing a sale of the land to new owner Culina Asset Management (CAM).

Under the terms of the agreement, CAM will occupy the 34-acre site, close to Junction 36 of the M1, and will continue the running of its extensive workshop. More via UK Haulier

ITM Power seals 500-MW capacity reservation deal

UK electrolysers manufacturer ITM Power Plc has recently signed an agreement to reserve 500 MW of future stacks production capacity for an unnamed industrial customer.

The Sheffield-based company announced in a statement that the deal covers the period until the end of calendar 2028 and foresees call-offs against future projects in Europe and the US. More via Renewables Now

Up to 150 jobs at risk at NI manufacturing giant

Up to 150 roles are at risk in Northern Ireland including through compulsory redundancy at manufacturing giant Terex after a Covid-era boom wore off.

The US-owned business confirmed it was making compulsory and voluntary redundancies but could not say how many jobs were at risk. More via Belfast Telegraph
