Funding deal for automation robotic specialist

An automation specialist which works with robotics has secured £350,000 in new funding.

The debt funding will help Birmingham-based Mechatronic Production Systems meet growing demand from manufacturers seeking to automate their processes, enabling the business to expand the team at its plant in Kings Norton and create seven new jobs. More via Business Live

Wet wipe factory closure sees 200 jobs lost

A nappy and wet wipes manufacturer has announced the closure of its two factories, meaning more than 200 people will lose their jobs.

Kimberly-Clark, based in Flint, said it could not meet the UK government’s deadline to remove plastic from wet wipes by mid-2026. More via BBC News
