Intercity battery train starts testing in the North of England

The UK’s pioneering intercity battery train began testing on the national rail network earlier this week.

This key milestone will see the battery technology trialled on routes between York to Manchester Airport and Leeds to Liverpool Lime Street over the next eight weeks. More via The Manufacturer

CV production turns up heat for summer – SMMT

UK commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturing output soared 71.7% in July to reach 15,252 units, reversing four months of decline, according to the latest figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The increase resulted in the best July performance in 16 years and a 201.8% increase on pre-pandemic July 2019 volumes. More via SMMT
