Dassault Systèmes buys fatigue simulation specialist

Safe Technolgy has worked with Dassault Systèmes for over 15 years and will now merge with the design and simulation giant.

Design and simulation software vendor Dassault Systèmes has acquired Sheffield-based Safe Technology, a provider of fatigue simulation platforms for predicting product durability.

The move expands Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform and the capabilities of its simulation application suite Simulia, providing what Dassault claims is the most complete and accurate durability prediction solution on the market.

Safe Technology, developer of the Fe‑Safe durability simulation application suite, has over 500 customers, including General Motors, Caterpillar Inc., Cummins Inc., Emerson Climate Technologies, Honda Jets, Harley Davidson Motor Company and Hyundai Motors.

The company has worked closely with Dassault for over 15 years, and Dassault says that it intends to keep Fe‑Safe at the forefront of fatigue technology, as well as integrating fatigue solutions into its range of designer‑oriented software tools.

“Consumers want a product that is built right, and they want a product that lasts. Durability deeply affects the emotional attachment between brands and their users,” said Bernard Charlès, President and CEO, Dassault Systèmes following the announcement of the acquisition.

“The 3DExperience platform is all about building brand loyalty for a company’s business and the products it offers – which is why Safe Technology is such a good fit for Dassault Systèmes.”
