Digby to mark opening of Solihull mechanical handling facility

A leading UK supplier of mechanical handling equipment has just moved its headquarters and manufacturing facilities to Solihull Business Park, where the official opening will be performed on April 22 by Lord Digby Jones.

V Installations Mechanical Handling Ltd says the much larger premises – extending to 30,000 square feet of space in purpose-built accommodation just a few minutes from the M42 motorway – will enable it to expand production capacity and introduce new products.

New plasma cutting and shaping machinery has already been installed at the Solihull site to improve the speed and accuracy of its production processes.

The company manufactures, installs, maintains and refurbishes conveyor systems, monorails, lift stations, turntables, steelwork structures, platforms, trolleys, barriers, handrails and other essential elements in the mechanical handling process.

V Installations was formed in 1985 as the brainchild of current managing director Gary Fox, who wanted to establish a centre of excellence for developing mechanical handling systems.

Based for many years in Stoke Prior on the outskirts of Bromsgrove, the company chose to move to Solihull because of its central location, proximity to the motorway network, excellent facilities and commitment to business enterprise.

Managing director Gary Fox said: “We are ready to expand our business into new markets and territories and believe that Solihull provides the ideal location for this new era in our history.  We are looking forward very much to next week’s formal opening of our new premises and are extremely grateful to Lord Digby Jones for agreeing to do the honours.”
