Join The Manufacturer and Microsoft on Wednesday February 8 to hear exclusive insights into digital transformation and be one of the first to see the unveiling of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
The most successful enterprises are the ones that know how to engage customers, empower employees, optimise operations, embrace digital transformation and make the most out of every moment.
This has been one of the most turbulent years the UK has ever experienced, politically and economically. With the Leave campaign winning the EU referendum and profound political changes in the US, one word has come to characterise the world we now live in: uncertainty. And as anyone in business will testify, uncertainty is the enemy of planning.

Digital transformation in manufacturing
The Manufacturing session will be led by Nick Peters, Editorial Director of The Manufacturer (see box below) and will include a presentation and a panel discussion. The presentation will centre on the findings from the latest Annual Manufacturing Report, which reflects the views of a huge array of companies and their leaders from across the entire industrial spectrum about the challenges that face them over the coming 12 months.
As well as offering examples of how manufacturers are dealing with these challenges and what lessons other companies in the sector can learn from them, a strong focus will be the challenge and opportunity posed by the digital transformation obliging companies to examine the fundamentals of how they do business.
Chaired by Nick Peters, the panel discussion includes such industry heavyweights as Pierre d’Imbleva, Chief Information Officer (Renault Sport Formula One Team – Renault Sport Racing) and Phil Wood, Group IT Director (Rotork Plc). The discussion will explore how manufacturers are coping with the rapid pace of change demanded by digital transformation, focusing on topics including:
- Cyber-security in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
- IP protection in the connected supply chain
- Changes to the workforce
- Financing the future
