Ecomold yet to be saved from closure

Car component manufacturer Ecomold, formerly known as Linpac, is likely to be forced to close its sites in Dunstable and Southend having fallen into administration last year.

KPMG – the administrators currently handling the company’s operations – has been unable to find a buyer for Ecomold, though it is continuing to seek offers.

If no buyer is found, the Dunstable factory will close in August, closely followed by the Southend facility in September.

A total of 384 workers are now facing redundancy.
