The Manufacturer’s annual search for the best manufacturers in the UK is kicking off today.
We want the best names in British manufacturing to enter and battle it out to take home one of our coveted award trophies. The Manufacturer of the Year Awards recognises excellence across a range of categories including SME Manufacturer of the year, Young Manufacturer of the year, World Class Manufacturing and many others.
The 2012 awards were The Manufacturer’s biggest and most successful yet with over 600 people attending the glittering awards ceremony.
This year the awards programme is set to be even better and we will be taking over Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole Hotel on 21st November to celebrate British manufacturing and crown the winners of The Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2013.
The awards are designed to acknowledge the strength and diversity of UK manufacturing. Entries for the awards are now open and close on the July 31, 2013.
They aim if the awards is to spread best practice, inspire others and showcase the important role UK manufacturing plays in today’s economy.
Last year’s The Manufacturer of the Year overall winner was CNH UK. Their plant in Basildon is the only UK-based tractor assembly plant. The company, which manufacturers 108 made to order tractors a day, yesterday hosted a unique event at their facility.
They took plant managers and lean experts on a tour to show off the best practice that won the company The Manufacturer of the Year Award. Delegates also experienced a deep dive development session which illustrated the 10 World Class Manufacturing Pillars that have helped CNH UK achieve world class status.
