Exception, a contract electronics manufacturer, has won two awards at the Wiltshire Business of the Year Awards 2009.
The company’s EMS business was awarded the competitive innovation and growth prize while its VAR team was awarded for international trade. It is the second consecutive year the VAR team has won in this category. Both are based in Calne, Wiltshire.
“Winning these two awards is a huge shot in the arm for all of the people who have given so much commitment and energy to the business over the last year,” says CEO Craig Wright.
“While our EMS business is forging ahead with innovative lean manufacturing principles to transform our contract manufacturing business, our offshore facility, with links in Asia, the Americas and eastern Europe, continues to create an international benchmark for customer service.”
Exception’s EMS business employs 220 people and specialises in the supply of hi-tech, high quality products, providing a range of capabilities for the assembly and test of complex printed circuit assemblies (PCAs), including full box build solutions. Exception VAR, employing 50 people, acts as an offshoring gateway for UK manufacturers to outsource the manufacture and supply chain management of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other electronic peripherals.
