Halifax-based Frederick Crowther & Sons, a manufacturer of metal waste conveyors and filtration equipment for the machine tool industry, has purchased a new site in West Yorkshire.

The company will relocate its operations to the new factory in Yorkshire from its existing site in Halifax as it experiences growth in sales to the aerospace, automotive and petrochemical industries.

It will become the main manufacturing facility for the family-owned business, which also has a site in Coldstream, Scotland, specialising in the repair and refurbishment of conveyors and steel telescopic covers used for machine tool applications.

Ben Crowther, managing director, said: “The relocation of our business to the new factory is exciting and will give our company the opportunity to grow and develop our products with existing and new customers.”

“Times are challenging and as a business it is paramount that we invest in the company with new premises, machines and people.”

Andrew Gent from the acting property agency Gent Visick said that the sale “continues a recent trend of manufacturers taking up of vacant accommodation – an indicator for the resurgence of the manufacturing sector over the service sector.”
