With more than 25 years’ experience within robotics and automation, Tom Bouchier has been appointed as FANUC UK managing director.
The former customer service manager will lead UK activity working out of FANUC’s headquarters in Coventry.
Bouchier is looking to continue the work of previous MD, Chris Sumner, who played a leading role in pushing the company to further growth across each of the firm’s three divisions – FA, Robots and Robomachines, while continuing to drive a global service agenda.
Having joined the company in 1990 as service coordinator, Bouchier has previously occupied multiple position at FANUC in the years since.
Promoted to Service Manager in 1997, he quickly took the initiative to drive customer service and was assigned to the role of customer service manager in 2012, responsible for all three business divisions.
Chris Sumner, who will remain with the business as director of FANUC UK and vice president of FANUC Europe, commented: “[Bouchier] is a great fit for the role with a strong customer focused background, and dedication to drive and deliver results.
“The appointment reflects a very exciting milestone in the history of our company. We wish him the best of success in his new role and responsibility, as we continue to expand our operations in the UK and deliver the best automation solutions for our clients.”
