Industrial giants from across the world will debut their latest aerospace and defence innovations at the biennial Farnborough Airshow next week, running between July 14 and July 20.
There will be a strong focus on the domestic aerospace industry, with UK firms including BAE systems, Rolls-Royce, and Airbus exhibiting products at the Hampshire airbase.
This year will be the first Farnborough for the recently rebranded Airbus Group.
The newest commercial Airbus aircraft, the A350 XWB, will be making its debut airshow appearance at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The A350 XWB will take part in the flying and static display for the first part of the week, while the A380 will be on display throughout the week.
Other members of the Airbus commercial aircraft family will also be featured during the show, including the A320, and an ACJ319 Corporate Jet.
The keenly-anticipated F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, produced by American firm Lockheed Martin, had been due to make its debut at this year’s airshow but may now remain grounded due to safety concerns.
“There has not been a decision made on that yet,” Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters.
“I think certainly we’d be disappointed if we weren’t able to take it to Farnborough. That said, safety’s got to be priority number one, and it is. And nobody wants to rush these aircraft back into the air before we know exactly what happened,” Rear Admiral Kirby added.
