Producer of membrane keypads and graphic overlays Fascia Graphics contributed to the success of manufacturer of traffic detection products, AGD, in winning the Queen’s Award.

Wiltshire-based Fascia Graphics supplied AGD with the optical screens for the AGD94x series of pedestrian signals, after cementing its position as a regular supplier. It supplied the Gloucestershire-based manufacturer AGD with labels for their products over the past four years.

Recognised for its ‘innovative styling and features’, the AGD946 was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2011. This is AGD’s second award – previously receiving the award in 2005 for a vision based detection system for traffic control applications: the AGD620.

Supply Assurance manager Dafydd Hughes commented: “In an increasingly competitive environment, we recognised that we wanted to work with a screen supplier that was willing to continuously improve its products. [In our opinion] Fascia fitted this mould.”

Engineering Manager, Michael Hole concluded: “This really illustrates what can be achieved when manufacturing companies take a partnership approach to product development.”

The Queens Award is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious awards that manufacturers can be presented with, because it is awarded on the direct advice of the Prime Minister.
