Broadcaster Katie Derham presented the winners at the UK food sector's annual Food and Drink Federations awards, held last night at London’s The Brewery.
The food and drink manufacturing industry is the single largest manufacturing sector in the UK, with a turnover of £92bn and a gross value added (GVA) worth of over £24bn. The industry employs over 400,000 workers, representing 16% of the overall manufacturing workforce in the UK.
FDF’s director of economic and commercial services Steve Barnes said: “The FDF Awards showcase the talented, ambitious and successful companies and people that make up the UK food and drink supply chain. At last night’s ceremony industry’s best and brightest were celebrated for their innovative approaches, commitment to the community, and vital contribution to the economy.”
