Fortune Brands makes Fortune Magazine list for 4th year

Fortune Brands Home & Security, a home and security products company, has been named to Fortune Magazine’s 2015 List of World’s Most Admired Companies for the fourth consecutive year.

The Company ranked second within the Home Equipment, Furnishings category, improving from thrid the previous year.

The Fortune Magazine World’s Most Admired Companies list is the definitive report card on corporate reputation. Hay Group, a global management consulting firm, has collaborated with Fortune annually since 1997 to identify, select and rank the World’s Most Admired Companies and uncover the business practices that make these companies highly regarded among their peers.

To compile the rankings, Fortune Magazine measures corporate reputation and performance along with nine key attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products/services, and global competitiveness.

Among those key attributes, in its industry Fortune Brands ranked first in people management, and second in use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value and quality of products/services.

In the overall competition, Apple held on to its top spot as most admired company for the eighth year in a row. In February, it became the first company to hit more than $700bn in market value.

And competitor Google was close behind in the number two position, its success owed largely to its profitable advertising business, which helped reach $66bn in revenue last year.

In third position and led by the ‘Oracle of Omaha’ Warren Buffett was Berkshire Hathaway which moved up a spot this year. Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s 2014 Annual Report to the shareholders will be posted on the Internet on Saturday February 28, 2015, at approximately 8:00am eastern time where it can be accessed at www.berkshirehathaway.com.
