On Thursday (July 8) Natwest and Smarta.com are holding a live interactive manufacturing and innovation webinar.

The free event, titled ‘maximising local and global opportunities’, will consist of a live panel debate featuring Sir Richard Needham, entrepreneur and Smarta Chairman; Martin Temple, chairman EEF the manufacturers’ organisation; and Peter Ibbetson, chairman of small business at NatWest. The event will be broadcast live online, with viewers able to submit questions for the panel before and during the debate.

The latest in the Natwest Business Knowledge series, topics at Thursday’s discussion will include access to finance, overcoming barriers to innovation, exporting opportunities and advice on funding.

The debate will start at 2:15pm.

Peter Ibbetson said: “These events are a great way of encouraging an open dialogue with businesses. There are over 168,000 manufacturing companies employing more than 2.5 million people in the UK. This sector has been hit hard by the recession, so we’re holding events such as these, along with our £1bn manufacturing fund, to increase support for these businesses as conditions begin to improve.”
