South West manufacturers and designers are invited to a day of free advice on product design and efficient manufacturing from the government backed sustainable consultancy Envirowise.
The day-long seminar takes places next Thursday (November 18) in Purton, near Swindon. It will include a workshop and case studies on eco-design and simple cost saving measures that can be easily implemented in the factory. It will also provide hands-on, practical guidance on resource efficient manufacturing processes and will demonstrate how cost savings can be achieved through reductions in assembly time and lower production costs.
“Eco-design aims to minimise the costs and environmental impact of a product over its entire life-cycle,” said Jenni Rosser. “Envirowise eco design specialist. “By improving resource productivity, that is, producing products and services using fewer materials and with less waste, businesses can benefit from reduced costs as well as improved environmental performance.
