GE Appliances has awarded more than $150m in new contracts to U.S.-based suppliers across ten states, a move set to strengthen domestic manufacturing networks as the company expands laundry production at its Louisville, Kentucky headquarters.
The contracts cover steel, resins, parts, and components for a new washer and combo washer-dryer plant currently under construction at the company’s largest manufacturing site.
The supplier awards deepen GE Appliances’ already extensive U.S. sourcing ecosystem, which includes more than 6,500 domestic suppliers, and signal continued momentum behind the brand’s manufacturing reshoring strategy. By bringing new production capacity to Louisville and prioritising U.S.-based suppliers, the company is creating opportunities for American businesses while reinforcing the resilience of domestic supply chains.
The contracts build on the $490m investment GE Appliances announced earlier this year to expand laundry manufacturing at the Louisville facility. They represent one of the first outward economic impacts of the company’s broader five-year, $3bn commitment to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing footprint, reshore selected production lines, and create more than 1,000 high-quality jobs nationwide.
Company executives said the latest supplier partnerships reflect a manufacturing strategy designed to generate growth well beyond the company itself. According to Lee Lagomarcino, vice president of clothes care, the initiative aligns with the company’s vision of “Built for America,” amplifying job creation and reinforcing the domestic industrial base as production scales.
Kentucky is emerging as a major beneficiary of the new contracts, securing more than $40m—the largest share of any state. Governor Andy Beshear noted that GE Appliances’ continued investments demonstrate confidence in the state’s workforce and highlight Kentucky’s growing role in anchoring U.S. manufacturing strength.
With construction underway at its revamped Louisville laundry complex and supplier spending accelerating nationwide, GE Appliances is positioning its latest investments as a catalyst for broader industrial growth—one that advances U.S. production capabilities while providing long-term opportunities for businesses across the country.
