Manufacturing executives are to visit some of the UK’s leading manufacturing sites as part of a benchmarking tour of excellence.
The five day tour, organised by The Manufacturing Institute, will see 16 delegates from the USA, Mexico, Australia, Spain and Ireland visit operations at Jaguar Land Rover in Halewood, Leyland Trucks in Lancashire and Unipart Rail in Crewe.
Attending the tour, which will take place between the 12th and 14th September, will be top names from Kraft Foods, Asenta, Tecnológico de Monterrey, The Red Button Group and Boston Scientific.
The executives are touring European manufacturing operations as part of a benchmarking tour focusing on sites that display best practice according to the Shingo Model of Operational Excellence, an international framework for the most effective manufacturing enterprises.
Julie Madigan, CEO at The Manufacturing Institute, said: “By seeing best practice in action at some of the world’s most renowned manufacturing operations this visit will enable manufacturers from across the world to share their ideas, experiences and deepen their understanding of how operational excellence is delivered.”
They will also visit BMW and Siemens’ flagship sites in Germany.
