Just Live a Little, Northern Ireland homemade granola manufacturer, has bolstered its market position after landing a distribution deal with online supermarket Ocado.

The Portaferry-based food manufacturer will sell eight of its granola range through the retailer in a £100,000 deal.

The agreement is part of the firm’s growth strategy to increase its customer base across the UK and Ireland and grow the business to twice the size in the forthcoming year.

The business began in 2011 by married couple Jill and David Crawford, who began selling the cereal at an artisan market stall.

Now the products are sold in six countries and available in Tesco NI, Asda NI, ParkNShop, Hong Kong, on Amazon, NISA, Diverse Fine Foods, Irish Wholefoods and a large number of independent retailers and artisan shops.

Jill Crawford, founder of Just Live a Little said: “We have spent the past few years perfecting recipes, developing our range and establishing our brand within Northern Ireland having secured several listings with some of the country’s biggest retailers.

“We have also secured a listing with SuperValu Centra Ireland, the second largest retailer in Ireland.

“We’re delighted to be working with so many big distributors and see the partnership with Ocado as the perfect opportunity to expand our customer base.”

The contract comes after a year of expansion where the organisation doubled its turnover and increased its range of products from three to thirteen.
