Growth watch: Good business sense at Sherborne

Hampshire based industrial, military and aerospace sensor manufacturer Sherborne Sensors has announced a 63% increase in global sales orders, fuelled by rapid expansion in the US.

“We experienced unprecedented global success in 2010 and, with a host of new products in the pipeline, we look forward to further growth in 2011,” said Mike Baker, managing director of Sherborne Sensors. “This year, wireless and multi-axis inertial devices for use in civil engineering applications will be added to our product range. Wireless communications simplify installation and allow users to save significantly on the expense associated with fixed cables, and we anticipate huge demand for these market leading solutions moving forward.”

The firms said the recent addition of an authorised sales representative in Canda further broadens its scope in North America.

Factory upgrades to the Hampshire production base, in response to the increased demand, will include new state-of-the-art test and calibration equipment, and improvements to product flow and throughput. These changes will be completed in early 2011.
