Hamworthy, a handling systems manufacturer for the oil and gas industry, has announced it will provide Golar LNG Energy with a liquid natural gas regasification system in 2011.
The £20m contract marks the beginning of another collaboration between the Dorset-based manufacturer and one of the world’s largest operators of LNG carriers. Hamworthy’s system, which will be delivered by the end of next year, will be installed on the first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Indonesia, in West Java.
Joe Oatley, chief executive of Hamworthy, said, “We are delighted to be working for the third time with Golar LNG, with whom we have had a successful relationship in the past. We are pleased to maintain our leading position in the FSRU market and are particularly excited to be providing Hamworthy technology to the first deployment of such a system in Asia.”
Hamworthy’s patented regasification systems work heating seawater, they are skid-mounted and their compact size makes them easy to install.
