Hitachi appoints new European chief executive

Hitachi announced that Klaus Dieter Rennert will be their new chief executive for Europe and corporate officer, yesterday.

The appointment of Mr Rennert will become effective on September 1st this year as he also succeeds Sir Stephen Gomersall as chairman of the board Hitachi Europe.

Mr Rennert will bring over 30 years experience in engineering having lead key Hitachi projects in Europe, South Africa and India.

Mr Rennert hopes to carry on the work carried out by Sir Stephen as the company looks for growth in Europe.

“I am looking forward to continuing the work successfully carried out by Sir Stephen to develop Hitachi’s presence in Europe. I am very impressed with Hitachi’s growth and globalisation strategies, as recently unveiled in the 2015 Mid-term Management Plan.
