HLH, a global provider of prototyping and bespoke low-volume manufacturing solutions, is set to expand its on-the-ground support to UK customers by opening a new facility in 2021.

HLH are set to open a new UK facility in 2021 as part of their international expansion. The company headquarters are based in Shenzhen and Dongguan, China. They undertake a wide variety of industrial applications including CNC machining, 3D printing, and rapid injection moulding.

The company works across a number of sectors, from automotive and aerospace, through to consumer products and medical. Its global appeal stems from its efficiency of output, often able to produce and ship high-quality prototype products within a week.

HLH have seen more and more UK manufacturers use their services over the past few years, which has prompted to company to open a facility in the UK itself. General work HLH undertaken on behalf of UK manufacturers includes low volume work and rapid prototyping. This has been attractive to UK manufacturers due to the quick turn around times on projects. HLH have seen demand for its services grow both in the UK and worldwide, with Nikon, Audi, and Phillips among its customer bases.

James Murphy, Co-Founder & Vice General Manager at HLH, said: “The lead times for these projects are often very tight, which is where quick and clear communication is key. We already have employees dedicated to providing on-the-ground support to our UK customers, and as demand continues to increase – especially given the lack of competition at this end of the market – we are looking to open a UK facility next year.”

He continued: “HLH is perfectly suited to providing an ultra-quick turnaround for prototypes or low-volume product runs. This can be invaluable for start-ups or for businesses looking to expand or adapt their offering, however given the demand we’ve had from the UK, it appears as if there simply aren’t too many other companies offering the turnaround times we can. By opening a UK facility next year, we hope we can cut our lead times even further and continue supporting UK manufacturing.”

As yet, HLH have not given a clear indication of where the new facility will be located in the UK or when it will be operational.

Mr Murphy concluded: “Given the demand we’ve had from the UK; it appears as if there simply aren’t too many other companies offering the turnaround times we can. By opening a UK facility next year, we hope we can cut our lead times even further and continue supporting UK manufacturing.”
