Hoffmann Group UK backs next generation of engineers with In-Comm Training partnership

Hoffmann Group UK has strengthened its commitment to developing future engineering talent through a new partnership with specialist training provider In-Comm Training, supplying advanced storage and workstation solutions to support apprentices across its academies.

The industrial tooling manufacturer and supplier has donated a selection of Garant cabinets and cleaning stations to In-Comm’s sites in Aldridge and Telford, equipping learners with professional-grade facilities designed to embed best practice on the shopfloor.

The initiative centres on promoting 5S workplace methodology – sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain – helping apprentices develop organisational discipline, improve productivity and reduce waste from the start of their careers.

Yasmin Williams, Workstations and Storage Specialist at Hoffmann Group UK, said the collaboration reflects the company’s focus on supporting engineering skills development.

“We understand the importance of a tidy workspace for optimum efficiency as a manufacturer ourselves. Our business is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers and this is reflected in the relationship with In-Comm Training. Effectively, the equipment we are supplying is helping learners adopt best practice and those learners could well become the Engineering Directors of the future.”

Garant, Hoffmann Group’s exclusive brand, designs modular storage systems with 5S principles in mind, giving apprentices experience with professional workshop standards and encouraging safe, organised tool management.

For In-Comm Training, which delivers apprenticeships and upskilling programmes to more than 700 employers each year, the partnership provides access to industry-grade equipment that enhances the learning environment and mirrors real-world manufacturing settings.

Ashley Wainwright, Engineering Academy Lead for In-Comm Training in Telford, said the impact was immediate.

“Our partnership with Hoffmann Group gives learners the perfect opportunity to cultivate the skills and qualities required to work on a busy and professional shopfloor. Learning to be an engineer isn’t just about knowledge, it’s also about behaviours and keeping a workshop organised.”

The new storage solutions have already improved efficiency in specialist training areas, reducing tool damage and helping apprentices spend more time learning rather than searching for equipment.

By working together, Hoffmann Group UK and In-Comm Training aim to raise shopfloor standards, strengthen skills development and prepare the next generation of engineers with the mindset and practices needed to succeed in modern manufacturing.
