Hornby has suggested it may not meet profit expectations for the year due to slowing demand for Hornby and Airfix models and Scalextric racing sets, and coupled with shipping delays during January.
The company now expects pre-tax profits of between £8.75 million and £9 million, compared to the £7.7 million it achieved in 2007.
