A four-day Essential Management Skills 2009 conference takes place at Warwick University, Coventry, from Weds April 1 to Sat April 4. It is organised by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

“This event is best suited to young, motivated professionals with the capacity to become the engineering leaders of tomorrow. If you have the potential to manage people or projects, or are already in a management position, this event will ensure you excel,” the organisation says.

The event includes a day-trip to an engineering firm of the delegate’s choosing to see theories in practice.
The conference costs £890 for members and £990 for non-members, though both these prices don’t include VAT.

In addition, the inaugural joint National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (NSAM) and IMechE lecture takes place at IMechE’s premises on Birdcage Walk, Westminster, on April 21.
